We’re delighted to announce that Hignell Gallery have partnered with the prestigious RHS Wisley to exhibit Dancing Hares by Sophie Ryder. The sculpture will be in residency for the next two years.
RHS Wisley is one of the world’s great gardens and is the flagship of the RHS. Attracting around one million visitors each year, it is one of the UK’s most visited and best-loved gardens.
The Royal Horticultural Society is the UK’s leading gardening charity. They aim to enrich everyone’s life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place. This vision underpins all that they do – from inspirational gardens and shows, through scientific research, to education and community programmes. The Dancing Hares are right at home in such a beautiful open air environment. Boasting 240 acres of gardens, the Dancing Hares are located by the lake at the entrance to the glass house at Wisley.
Standing at over four and a half meters high and over seven meters wide, this joyous sculpture is one of Ryder’s most well known and loved images. The surface of Dancing Hares is full of Ryder’s iconic found objects, toys and machine parts.
Dancing Hares is an edition of 9. Please contact the gallery for sale enquiries
